Gorgeous textures, elegant fonts and stunning colour combinations, that’s what greets you when you first see the Glitter and Lace WordPress theme.

This is the latest theme from Genesis developer Heather Jones of Viva la Violette and I absolutely love it.
Heather is a fabulously talented designer and her themes appear regularly in the Genesis Community Marketplace.

  • Go to Genesis->Theme Options and select a colour option.
  • Download and install the Simple Social Icons plugin and add it to the ‘Social Icons’ widget area and configure options.
  • Download and install the Instagram Widget plugin, add it to the ‘Instagram’ widget area and set options to: 6 images, 150px x 150px. (For first time setup, you will need to follow the link to get an access token.)

A modern mobile responsive theme that makes full use of Social Media and is a breeze to set-up.
In short… a theme for today’s blogger that will look good well in to the future.

    Afternoon Keith, Instagram integrated is interesting – perhaps a good theme for a photographic nut?

    I actually have a client who has already contacted me as she wants to use this one as a personal blog ; )

    Looks absolutely wonderful and I am really looking for a new theme right now :)
    I’ve got a few questions, not sure if the right place to ask here, but here goes:
    * Is it easy to get rid of the instagram plugin? Do I just ignore that step?
    * Can you clean up the bottom area? I’d like to keep it simpler?
    * Can you just install the social icons that you need? (don’t have accounts on all channels)

      Hi Delia-

      You do not have to use the instagram plugin or instagram widget area at all if you do not wish to ;)
      Same thing for the footer- you would just not add any widgets to those 3 bottom footer widget areas.
      Yes, the simple social plugin allows you to display specific icons, depending on how you set it up.

    I have just installed Glitter and Lace and am working on the Simple Social Icons. I can not get my email, pinterest or twitter URL to work. Facebook, Google+ and RSS are ok.
    Any ideas?
